What's in Bloom for Spring?

The snowy winter has subsided, and the buds are starting to swell, ready to burst open. As we gear up for spring, who can resist the pansies with their happy little "faces" that add that cheerful bright spot of welcome color to your flowerboxes, containers and gardens.  Pansies are available in a wide range of colors. Choose from shades of violet, blue, red, orange, yellow, and white, in addition to the "bi-colors". We also carry "cold weather mixed" baskets and planters, a select group of plants that can stand up to the cooler night temperatures of spring.

Time to Plant
Once the site prep has been accomplished, it's time to plant your annuals, perennials, and vegetables. In this area, the last frost date is usually mid-May. We do recommend that you wait until the last frost date, before you plant tender annuals.

Spring flowers and Vegetables
Mountain pinks have arrived. This low growing perennial ground cover brings a massive amount of spring color to your garden and landscape.  The mountain pinks are notorious for spilling over walls and into rock gardens.

Garden Preparation
NOW is the time to plan and prepare your garden for the upcoming growing season. The best time for preparation/renovation is BEFORE the plants are in the ground!

Our skilled staff can assist you with your selection of annuals, perennials, nursery stock, vegetable plants, rose bushes and grass seed, as well as a full line of garden supplies, fertilizers, and lime and soil amendments. Garden preparation is a crucial task that is too often over-looked. Just like any other project, 80 percent of the job is prep-work. Skipping the proper preparation will haunt you all season long, so take the time to do it right the first time. If you need some pointers, be sure to check out our comprehensive Spring Planting Tips page for a list of spring planting and maintenance tasks.
